Directions

By Car
From the north, south or east follow the A30 from Exeter, signposted Okehampton. After approx. 9 miles take the left exit for Woodleigh Junction/Cheriton Bishop. The Coach House is on the right towards the village. From the west take the A30 to Exeter, 5 miles after Whiddon Down take Woodleigh Junction exit and follow signs.

Public Transport
From Exeter and Okehampton take the X30 or 173 Stagecoach buses to Cheriton Bishop (Cross/Good Knight) and walk towards Tedburn St Mary/Woodleigh Junction. After approx. 1/4, we're just on the left.
 

Woodleigh Coach House & Cafe is situated in the village of Cheriton Bishop, at the Woodleigh Junction exit on the A30 dual carriageway which runs from the M5 at Exeter through to Cornwall via Truro to Penzance.

The Cathedral city of Exeter, with its historic Quay and excellent variety of shops and restaurants is only 10 minutes away by road and the historic town of Okehampton 13 miles.

This unique position gives easy access to explore the many various visitor attractions of Devonshire's Heartland and this area of outstanding natural beauty, whether by car, horse or foot.  It is a perfect stop off point for those wishing to tour the area, or travel to/from Cornwall.

Cheriton Bishop is a tranquil village on the edge of Dartmoor National Park which won the title Best Kept Village 2004.

Also nearby you'll find plenty of local attractions to entertain you and the whole family such as Castle Drogo, A granite fortress, commanding panoramic views of Dartmoor built between 1910–30, And Fingle Bridge, A stunning 4 1/2 mile walk taking down beside the river Teign then back around over the top of the valley looking down at the river allowing for some fantastic photographs and beautiful scenic views.

If you're looking for a place to drink during your stay here, there are enough local pubs each with a different atmosphere and each giving you a completely different experience, from the traditional country pub with evening meals at the Red Lion to a more modern style in The Mulberry, or for the traditional 16th Century Inn try the Old Thatch Inn.

Along with all the beautiful scenery and fascinating architecture, there are plenty of activities like Golf and Horse Riding nearby and countless places to spend the day fishing!
